What do I need for registering on your platform?

Just a valid email, a paypal valid account to pay you to and proven experience on interpretation services.

Do you charge any kind of monthly or yearly fee for the account?

No, no fees at all, you will not be charged for anything and we will pay you for the work you put in.

Does the account expires due to inactivity?

No, the account does not has an inactivity expiry time period.

In what countries is LingoCall available to work?

In all of them, as long as you have a non restricted internet connection, a computer that meets the minimum requirements and a valid paypal account.

What is LingoCall?

LingoCall is an on demand global platform created for you to offer your services to travelers, entrepreneurs and small businesses from all over the world through the internet, from the comfort of your own home, and at your own time and availability.

What services does LingoCall offer?

LingoCall offers online services for remote video language interpretation of face-to-face conversations in different languages.

How does the LingoCall interpretation service work?

Our platform is based on real-time communication technology (WebRTC - Web Real Time Communication), which allows the interpreter to immediately join the conversation through an internet connection when the client requests it.

What does working with LingoCall means?

LingoCall allows you to interpret remotely through the Web platform, from your own computer, with the freedom to choose where and when to work, as long as you meet the required technical and aptitude requirements and minimum requirements for noise, presentation and connectivity.

Should I download and install a specific software on my device?

No, you must not; you only need a compatible browser (Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox if you are a Windows user, and Safari 11+ if you are a MAC user) which supports the WebRTC technology. This way you can work from any computer using your username and password.

Can I stay connected and available on the platform while performing other tasks?

Yes, you can do it. The platform allows the professional to remain available in the background while keeping other programs or web pages open.
IMPORTANT! Care should be taken to ensure that devices DO NOT GET ASLEEP, as the interpreter will lose the connection. Also, the connection should not be used simultaneously with download programs or P2P (Spotify or Torrent type) systems, which consume much of the bandwidth and saturate the line or that occupy the speaker systems, hearing aids and camera of the device from where is working.

Do I need full time dedication and exclusiveness to work through LingoCall?

No, the platform is compatible with the development of other jobs or tasks, as it allows you to manage your own availability, being possible to search for calls on the platform while performing other tasks. However, upon receiving a notification and accepting the assignment of the interpretation, you should concentrate on the provision of the service, without performing other tasks.

What are the advantages of working with LingoCall?

LingoCall brings global customers closer to interpreters, allowing interpreters to offer their services where they wouldn't otherwise have the opportunity to do so, at a global level. Therefore, increasing their customer base while maintaining their time and availability flexible and being well remmunerated for it.

What are the working hours at LingoCall?

There is no set schedule, you can work whenever you prefer it. While some users may request calls during office hours, oders may request calls during off hours because they might be in a different timezone. Therefore, the longer you are available on the platform, the more calls you can take on. We recommend not to work more than eight continuous hours and take the appropriate breaks.

Can I keep track of the services I have provided in the past through LingoCall?

Yes, each interpreter can access the list of interpreted calls they have attended through the Balances tab in the navigation menu of the platform, where he/she can check the details of each (date, service, language, duration...). As soon as a call is finished, it appears on the interpreter's balance section.

What is the normal flow to receive calls?

1 - Login into our platform (via our Web App) and navigate to the Calls page.
2 - While in this page, the system will set you as available and search calls for you.
3 - When a call has been found the system will show it to you in screen and ring a bell to let you know. You have 15 seconds to respond to the offering.
4 - If you like the presented option then accept it, your acceptance will be presented to the user that requested the call.
5 - If not, then reject it and the system will search another one for you.
6 - After your acceptance has been presented to the user, it will either accept it or reject it.
7 - If the user accepts it then you both will join the call immediately.
8 - If the user rejects it then the system will let you know and will continue the search for a new service for you immediately.
9 - Once in the call, you will greet the user with the formal greeting and tell him to invite the other attendee to the call so you can start the interpreting.
10 - When the third party joins the call, you will greet the attendee with the formal greeting and explain the motive of the call.
11 - The user who requested the service is the only one that can finish the call at any time, when it does then all the parties will disconnect from it.
12 - After the call has been finished the system will prompt you the rating screen where you have to provide feedback about the user and the system.
13 - You can always check the call's bill details in the Balances page.

What browser should I use to make a LingoCall?

You must use the latest version of Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox if you are a Windows user, and Safari version 11 or greater if you are a MAC user.

Can I share information about the call topic and/or contents to people external to the call?

No, as part of our Terms and Conditions and Privacy Policy agreements you are not allowed to share any information about what has been shared on the calls to people external from the call itself.

Payments & Pricing


Will I get any charge when searching for services to take on?

No, there are no charges for searching for a LingoCall.

Will I get any charge for rejecting a service?

No, there are no charges for rejecting a service but the more you accept the more you will earn.

When does the system starts to count the minutes that will be payed to me?

The system starts the minute count from the time you join the call until the end of the call.

If I accept the service but couldn't connect, will I get charged some kind of penalty fee?

No, if you couldn't connect to the call after accepting it you will not be charged anything.

If I accept the service but couldn't connect, will I get payed something?

No, if you could not connect to the call after accepting it you will not be payed anything as the minute count never started.

If the third party could not connect to the call, will I still get payed for the minutes?

Yes, you still will get payed for the minutes you were in the call.

What do I get payed for in a LingoCall?

You will get payed for the total minute count from the time you and the user successfully join the call until the time when the call has been finished.

How much the interpretation minute costs?

You can check the rates at our Work landing page Payment section.

How do the Payments work?

In a bi-weekly manner, the system will process the statements accumulated to the date and notify you, after the notification you must upload an invoice for the payment period on the Balances tab. Once the invoice has been approved, the money will be transfered to you payroll account.

Will I get notified when the deposit has been made?

Yes, as soon as the deposit has been made you will receive and email with the notification. You can also always check the current statement period and previous ones in the Balances section of the platform.

If I am an interpreter based in Costa Rica, will I have to asume any money transfer costs?

If you registered a BNCR account as your payroll account then no, you won't have to cover transference costs. If you register a payroll account from a bank different than the BNCR, then the SINPE fee runs by you.

Is there any kind of template for us the interpreters to create the payment period invoices?

All the guidelines for the invoices are available in the Balances tab for each payment period.
To answer you:
Interpreters outside Costa Rica have an invoice template word document that can fill in and export to PDF for each payment period available in the Balances tab period statements.
Interpreters within Costa Rica don't have such template, they must provide an XML document approved by the Ministerio de Hacienda they get once they have issued an electronic bill.

Do you have Android and iOS mobile applications for the interpreters?

No, the Interpreters have to connect from a laptop or desktop computer at all time.

What hardware do I need to work with LingoCall?

- A computer (Laptop or desktop) with a minimum of 4 gigabytes of RAM with their corresponding camera, headset and microphone, in which you can effectively and efficiently open and operate the LINGOCALL web application.
- A compatible internet browsers must be used: Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox or Safari, updated to its latest stable release version.
- A stable broadband connection ADSL type or stable 4G mobile network.

IMPORTANT! Care should be taken to ensure that devices do NOT get asleep, as the interpreter will lose the connection. Also, the connection should not be used simultaneously with download programs or P2P (Spotify or Torrent type) systems, which consume much of the bandwidth and saturate the line or that occupy the speaker systems, hearing aids and camera of the device from where the professional is working.

Does LingoCall provides me with a computer and/or internet connection to attend calls?

No, the device and internet connection to connect to LingoCalls runs entirely at the Interpreter expenses.
